Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,
As part of our commitment to fostering personal development and wellbeing, we will be covering Healthy relationships, sexual health and consent in upcoming Progress Coaching sessions across Berkshire.
These sessions aim to provide students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to make informed, respectful and safe decisions in their personal lives.
Topics covered:
- Healthy relationships and sexual health awareness
Content: Group discussions and scenario-based activities exploring what makes relationships healthy or unhealthy. Students will learn how to access NHS sexual health resources and make informed decisions.
Content: Real-life scenarios focusing on sexually transmitted infections (STI) prevention, the importance of consent, and practising safe sexual health behaviours. Students will work collaboratively to explore decision-making in challenging situations.
External support: NHS Sexual Health will provide confidential guidance, resources, and STI testing for students who wish to access the service. - Speak Up, Speak Out consent week
Interactive scenarios: Students will explore bystander strategies and learn how to challenge unsafe or harmful behaviours.
Consent awareness workshops: Engaging discussions on the legal, social, and emotional
aspects of consent, empowering students to make safe and respectful choices.
Trigger Warnings
We recognise that discussions around relationships, sexual health, and consent may be sensitive for some students. Our Progress Coaches will handle the topics with care, creating a safe, non-judgmental space for all students. If a student finds any aspect of the session challenging, they will be supported and can opt to step out or seek additional help.
